Surface Bound Gravel
Our client had completed the main building works on a new detached house on the outskirts of Ballynahinch. They were looking for a weed free decorative pavement which was low maintenance and complimented the contemporary house design. They visited our show area a number of times and decided the best option was our exposed aggregate concrete product - Surface Bound Gravel.
In addition to the specialist pavement laying works we also installed the edging kerbs, and designed the final pavement gradients so as to avoid the need to install gullies and created a disabled ramp.
Our client had an existing parking area which was too small to accommodate their parking requirement. They also wanted a decorative surface which was low maintenance. We suggested increasing the size of the parking area to accommodate 3 cars and using our Surface Bound Gravel exposed aggregate concrete surface. At the entrance we laid a golden granite edge trim which complemented the gold coloured aggregate in the concrete surface.
Our client had an existing garden adjacent to a driveway which was too small to park more than one car in. They asked us to provide a quotation to remove the garden entirely and extend the parking area so that at least two cars could sit on the driveway. They also wanted a new fence and gates to replace the existing wall and hedge. The works involved lowering the garden by 1.5m and constructing a dividing retaining wall with the adjacent property. When the facilitation works were completed we installed our exposed aggregate Surface Bound Gravel surfacing. The aggregate the client chose was River Pebble.
Our clients had an existing decorative gravel driveway which was difficult to walk on. It was also difficult to maintain, especially removing leaves in the autumn and controlling weed growth. The owners visited our show area and selected our Surface Bound Gravel product with a 2 wide granite sett boundary trim. In addition to the main work they wanted to resurface the existing tiled step at the main entrance and chose a black limestone flag with which to do so.
We re-graded the existing gravel to ensure water drained on to the adjacent lawn areas. Granite setts were laid so there was no step up on to the lawn thereby facilitating grass cutting because the mower could travel on the lawn and driveway without any change in level. When the new driveway had been installed and sealed we placed screened topsoil & grass seed adjacent to the new granite sett banding.
